Safraz is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). He was born in Guyana, South America and immigrated to the United States in 1974. Safraz has a Bachelor of Science degree at Florida International University, where he majored in Psychology. He also has a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova University. He has worked in the mental health profession for 15 years. Safraz believes his greatest area of strength is his experience as a diagnostician. “I am solution focused in my therapy approach and use Dialectic Cognitive Behavioral treatment techniques.” said Safraz. He views his approach to his job as being empathetic, genuine, and caring to his clients.
At The Cove Center for Recovery he runs groups, speaks about psychology, as well as the damaging effects of drugs. Safraz has the innate ability to provide the our clients with a clear picture of how destructive their life would be if they continue down their path to substance abuse and alcohol addiction. His strongest attribute is building a repertoire with the clients by behaving in a genuine manner. Safraz truly understands the part mental health plays in alcohol and substance abuse addiction.
In his free time he likes to go to movies, cook, and is a Cricket enthusiast, but most importantly his passion is spending time with his “love of his life,” Safia, his 11-year-old daughter.
