Interventions in Iowa / Iowa Interventions
An intervention is an orchestrated attempt to get someone to get help for their drug or alcohol addiction. Interventions are necessary for individuals who are unable or unwilling to recognize their need for help. Interventionists assist families in confronting and guiding their loved one to recognize the signs and symptoms of addiction and the need for change. Credentialed and experienced interventionists are available to assist individuals and family members with the intervention process.
Drug Detox in Iowa / Drug Detoxification
During the drug detoxification process, the client will be medically supervised as he or she rids their body of the toxin that accumulate following heavy drug use. Unfortunately, this may result in some uncomfortable and dangerous withdrawal symptoms. Doctors at the detox center will prescribe non-addictive medications to help clients with the more severe withdrawal symptoms. Detoxification is often the first step in a drug addiction treatment program and should be followed by addiction rehab at an in-patient facility.
There are a number of drug detox programs available. Studies have shown that inpatient drug detox programs are usually more successful than outpatient detox, due in large part to the fact that they are medically based programs located within a drug rehab facility or addiction treatment center.
Drug Rehab Iowa / Drug Rehabilitation
Short-term and long-term drug rehabilitation programs are available for clients, ranging anywhere from a 30 day program to one year of treatment. The Cove Center for Recovery also offers residential addiction treatment programs along with 12-step programs, individual therapy, family counseling, and group therapy.
Marijuana Addiction Treatment / Marijuana Rehab
Marijuana addiction treatment programs focus on counseling and group support systems for the marijuana addict. At this time, there is no known treatment for marijuana addiction. However, marijuana addiction treatment will focus on the reasons why the addict started abusing the drug in the first place. Often times, substance abuse is a result of an undiagnosed mental illness or traumatic event that occurred in the past. By working through these issues, therapists are able to help the clients end their marijuana addiction permanently.
The marijuana addiction treatment program at the Cove Center for Recovery is a 30 to 90 day program for adults who feel as if their lives have become unmanageable because of their addiction.
Alcohol Addiction Treatment Iowa / Alcohol Rehab
The alcohol addiction program is specifically designed to help patients learn the reasons why they became an alcoholic. Patients will be able to assess their dependency and learn how to abstain from alcohol use. The alcohol rehab programs offered to clients are evidence-based alcohol treatment programs, which may include medications that specifically suppress the driving force of alcohol dependence.
Addiction treatment programs use a cognitive behavioral therapy approach to help the addict learn how to cope with stress without returning to alcohol abuse. Cognitive behavioral therapy recognizes the powerful relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behavior, and the impact that it has on addiction and recovery. The Cove’s alcohol addiction treatment program is designed to help people explore feelings and behaviors which trigger the need for alcohol. Therapists will work with all patients to discover the root of the addiction and how to move past it.

Cutting, Self-Harm Addiction Treatment / Cutting Rehab
Self-harm is a form of self-medication for many people. However, cutting and self-harm are highly addictive behaviors that become the person’s main coping skill for dealing with stress or trauma. Self-harm is often associated with other psychological problems and it tends to be treated under the umbrella of a co-occurring disorder like PTSD, substance abuse, or borderline personality disorder. There is evidence, however, suggesting more improvement when the self-harming behavior is the primary focus of treatment. Read more on Cutting Addiction Treatment Rehab.
