What is an intervention? An intervention is an orchestrated attempt by family and friends to get someone to seek treatment for a drug, alcohol, or behavioral addiction. Many addicts do not believe they have a problem for a variety of different reasons. Interventions are necessary for those who are unable or unwilling to recognize the need for help.
The Cove Center for Recovery has an experienced team of interventionists who are able to assist families in confronting and guiding their loved one to recognize the signs of addiction and the desperate need for change. The Cove will help you plan the intervention and facilitate the entire process. Family counseling is also available post-intervention.
Drug Detox in South Dakota / Drug Detoxification in South Dakota
People have a variety of different reasons for why they go to detox. For some, detox is the first step on their journey to full recovery. However, others might just be ready to safely stop taking their prescribed medications. Always consult a doctor before you stop taking any prescribed medications.
Detox is the process of getting rid of all toxins that have accumulated in the body due to drug or alcohol use. The detox process typically lasts 7 to 10 days and it should ALWAYS be completed under medical supervision. Certain drugs may cause the patient to have severe withdrawal symptoms. However, an on-site team of doctors and nurses will be able to prescribe non-addictive medications to ease any withdrawal symptoms. All patients will be monitored around the clock to ensure they are safe and comfortable during the detox process.

The Cove Center for Recovery offers a variety of different treatment options for its clients. Short-term treatment typically lasts 30 to 90 days while long-term rehab lasts a minimum of 90 days. The Cove also has intensive outpatient drug rehab programs, outpatient treatment, and residential addiction treatment programs. Individual, family, and group therapy are integral parts of the Cove’s drug and alcohol treatment program.
Marijuana Addiction Treatment / Marijuana Rehab
Marijuana is the most common illicit drug in the USA. It can be very addictive for some people. Marijuana addiction treatment at the Cove focuses on a system of counseling and group support to help the addict overcome his or her addiction. There are no medications currently available to treat a marijuana addiction.
Marijuana addiction treatment typically requires a short-term rehab stay and it lasts from 30 to 90 days. Therapists at the Cove will work with each client to create a personalized marijuana addiction treatment plan.
Alcohol Addiction Treatment / Alcohol Rehab
The alcohol addiction program at the Cove was specifically created to help clients discover the reasons why they began abusing alcohol in the first place. Addiction experts at the Cove teach clients new ways of dealing with stress without turning to alcohol abuse.
The alcohol rehab program offered to clients is an evidence-based program which may include medications that suppress the desire to drink. Addiction treatment programs use a cognitive behavioral therapy approach to explore the powerful relationship between thoughts, feelings and behavior. The Cove Center for Recovery’s alcohol addiction treatment program is designed to help people learn their triggers for alcohol and learn how to avoid those triggers in recovery.
Residential Addiction Treatment Program / Residential Rehab
Residential addiction treatment at the Cove is a combination of recreational, clinical, and therapeutic activities. Clients will live together in apartments located near the Cove’s treatment center. They will be responsible for cooking, cleaning, and other chores. This “real life” approach to rehab teaches clients new life skills and ways to be responsible for their own well-being. Over time, the Cove has found that this approach is more realistic and prevents relapses.

Outpatient Addiction Treatment Program / Outpatient Rehab
Outpatient addiction treatment is the perfect follow up after residential addiction treatment. Outpatient treatment involves the client coming in 3 to 5 times a week to meet with his or her therapist. The therapist will help the client to continue working towards his or her recovery.

Drug Rehab Treatment Center Dual Diagnosis Program
Dual diagnosis therapy is for those who are suffering from addiction and a co-existing mental health disorder. Unfortunately, many addicts turn to substance abuse as a way to self-medicate for an undiagnosed mental illness. The Cove has created a gambling addiction treatment program to help those who have realized that their gambling problem is out of control.

Eating Disorders Treatment Program / Eating Disorders Rehab
Eating disorders are characterized by an unhealthy relationship with food. That relationship might involve restricting, bingeing, and/or purging after meals. An eating disorder is a mental health disorder and it can also become an addiction. The HALO program at the Cove Center for Recovery provides medical care, nutrition, and self image therapeutic intervention, along with individual gender-specific psychotherapy, trauma, meditation, art, and music therapy.

Cutting, Self-Harm Addiction Treatment / Cutting Rehab
Cutting or self-injuring is another example of a self-medicating behavior. However, this dangerous behavior can easily become an addiction. At the Cove, therapists work with each client to help them learn new ways of dealing with stress without turning to cutting.
