Watch what one Cove client had to say about our drug rehab
During a Miami Herald interview at the Cove Center for Recovery drug rehab – Chris – a flakka addict under treatment was asked why he chose the Cove to recover from his serious addiction.
Here’s some other quotes on what he had to say about why the Cove is different:
“Honestly I loved the staff and the personal attention they give you,” said Chris, who has since moved into our Sober Living facility after receiving residential treatment. “The large places have something like 125 clients at one time and you don’t get that personal focus and attention like you do at the Cove.”

Chris added: “The stuff that I learned here, I would never have learned anywhere else. At the Cove, they really let you focus on yourself and your addictions. I mean that is a big thing because it comes from your inside thoughts. They really helped me get a realization of my addiction.”

Chris was also asked by Jay Weaver, an award winning Miami Herald investigative reporter, who broke the Alex Rodriguez steroid drug scandal, about what his daily routine is like.
“We stay at a residential treatment facility and we enjoy a lot of freedom which helps to develop our life skills. For example, we are given a certain amount of money each week to go food shopping. This gets us out in the real world so when the time comes to be discharged, we are not overwhelmed. It also teaches us how to budget our expenses, which can be an issue with an addict.”
“This is different than other treatment centers where meals are prepared for you and that is not how it is in the real world. We need to learn about responsibility and going food shopping is a chore that people in recovery need to learn to do for themselves in every day life.”
