The Cove Internship Program

The Cove Center for Recovery seeks to serve individuals who intend to become members of the Mental and Behavioral health profession by offering a formal college internship program for current undergraduate students. College undergraduate students can now apply to the Cove to complete a valuable internship at our drug and alcohol treatment center.

The Cove accepts students from a wide range of universities and programs. From Barry University to any local healthcare program. We are looking for willing and capable students.

As a behavioral health intern you have a wide range of departments that you can work for including:

  • Behavioral Technician
  • Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP)
  • Certified Administrative Professional (CAP)
  • Social Work
  • Mental Health
  • Marriage and Family Counseling

The Cove Center for Recovery internship is a great way for students to gain experience in the field. Through this internship, students will learn the proper application of theories learned in school. Soon after learning from observing they will begin using these treatment steps on people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. All interns will work closely with our clinical department to the knowledge and skills needed to provide productive behavioral/mental health therapeutic services. Interns will also be able to serve in the roles as a clinician and technician while gaining the appropriate experience in the mental health or behavioral health field.

Interns will be receiving full training and assisting in therapeutic and clinical operations. They will also take part in staff meetings. This internship will take place at our Fort Lauderdale drug and alcohol treatment facility.


  • Must be attending an accreditable school or university
  • A minimum of  20-25 hours weekly is necessary for this internship

Interns who successfully complete this internship will gain mission critical experience in the mental and behavioral health field. It is not uncommon for the Cove to hire interns upon completion of the program.
