Chris is a former client and flakka addict seeking treatment from The Cove Center for Recovery. Since his completion of the recovery program he has been doing well and maintaining sobriety. As a way of showing his thanks and appreciation he wrote a thank you letter to our staff and owners. Read his heartfelt word of thanks below:

The Cove took me on a trip to Detroit not too long ago. This gave me the opportunity to share my story, along with my most recent experiences with drug abuse and relapse. I was given the chance to share this with Dr. Nandi who is trying to not only help other addicts but the parents and families of the addict as well. He has his own television show and was kind enough to allow me to join him on camera and share my experiences.

Now for me, an addict in recovery, I could not have asked for a better gift. The ability to share my story with others in the hopes that it could at least help one person is what we strive for in recovery. If my story could have helped a hustling addict or a family member of one, my job would be complete. The most amazing part is that I was still in treatment myself when this took place. The Cove took care of me as if I was one of their own. They were very kind and providing as well. I will forever be thankful and grateful for the experience as a whole.

Since I am no longer in treatment, I have the ability to share my story as much as possible in meeting but it is nowhere in comparison to the trip to Detroit. I look forward to seeing my episode of the show. I was a little nervous shooting the segment but the staff that came along from The Cove and owner Karen Corcoran-Walsh were very supportive.. They helped me to find inner peace and helped me achieve a tranquil mood. I was able to film the segment in one shot and did so in a relaxed fashion. Through everything , I learned that when you really try in recovery, miracles really do happen.
