Yoga Therapy at the Cove Center for Recovery
For decades yoga has been used as a tool to achieve inner peace and happiness. In today’s world the range of which yoga is being used has expanded greatly. Many continue to use it for recreation and others use it as a form of therapy.
Yoga therapy focuses on the mind, body and spirit of an individual. By using breathing and exercise techniques one is able to lengthen and strengthen the spine and other body parts. This popular method for relaxation and health has becoming increasingly popular among those in addiction recovery.
This alternative form of therapy is one that helps our clients to learn various coping techniques. Our clients are taught patience and discipline as they move from one pose into the next. They learn to control their breathing and how to meditate as a technique to remain calm.
